  • Define the structure and function of an ICF catalog
  • Create and maintain ICF catalogs
  • Understand the associations between the differing VVDS and BCS records
  • Identify and determine an error in a catalog structure
  • Define procedures to diagnose, backup and recover catalog, whilst ensuring a high level of system availability

This course is designed for Systems programmers, operations analysts or anyone responsible for maintaining and building ICF catalogs.

Recommended Prerequisites

The participant should have knowledge of the z/OS environment along with experience with JCL and VSAM datasets.
