Course Summary

This 5-day course is intended for z/OS Systems Programmers who are responsible for supporting cryptography for their end users. It will provide an introduction to cryptography in general (hint: It?s not just scrambling of data) and why cryptography is important to your enterprise. Then it will cover the cryptographic hardware that is available on System z and the operating system support that makes it work including parameters that might impact your security and your performance. Finally it will cover the most common subsystems and products that leverage the crypto infrastructure. These will include System SSL, database encryption, PKI Services and others.
