This class enhances a delegate's z/OS JCL skills, enabling them to fully exploit advanced features such as conditional execution and procedures. Analysis and resolution of errors, system messages and ABENDS plus exploitation of IBM utility programs (including IEBGENER, IDCAMS, SORT plus others) is also included.

The course starts with an overview of job processing throughout the system. The class covers the important JCL parameters including SMS specific parameters.

After taking this course the student should be able to

• Understand and diagnose return codes and conditional execution.
• Understand the job log and system messages
